Visakhapatnam: A court in Vizianagaram district on Friday convicted Vempadapu Suribabu, 33, for murdering his friend and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
Police said Suribabu killed Ganivada Atchum Naidu near Vijinigiri under Jami police station limits on November 11, 2024, following a dispute over a stolen mobile phone.
18kg dry ganja seized
Visakhapatnam: Vizianagaram district police seized 18 kg of dry cannabis and arrested four persons in two separate incidents while they were allegedly transporting the contraband by train.
In the first case, police arrested Budu Barika and Harish Barika, both natives of Odisha, and seized 10 kg of cannabis.
In the second case, police arrested Aakash Kumar and Sunil Kumar and seized 8 kg of cannabis from them.
