The Simhadri Appannaswami Chandanotsavam is being performed in a grandiose manner. Pilgrims thronged the temple from early Monday morning in large number. Temple Hereditary Dharmakarta and Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathiraju’s family visited the temple and offered the Chandanam (sandalwood paste) first. On behalf of the state government, Home Minister Anita offered silk clothes to the presiding deity. Later, TTD also offered silk clothes to Lord Appannaswami. Ministers Kondapalli Srinivas, Kollu Ravindra and others also offered prayers at the temple.
All arrangements were made for the pilgrims in view of the heavy rush. The temple was bedecked with flowers and illuminated colourfully on the occasion of Chandanotsavam. Signboards were installed at crucial junctions for the convenience of the pilgrims.
