HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) on Wednesday raised concerns over the ongoing online transfer process for government doctors, seeking greater transparency, clearer guidelines and consideration of physical counselling.
The association submitted representations to Director of Public Health and Family Welfare (DPH&FW) Dr B. Ravinder Nayak, Director of Medical Education (DME) Dr Narendra Kumar, and Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) Commissioner Dr Ajay Kumar ahead of meetings convened regarding General Transfers 2026.
According to TGGDA, several doctors across the state were facing uncertainty over the implementation of the online transfer system. While appreciating the move towards digital administration, the association said multiple issues affecting fairness and confidence among doctors needed immediate attention.
Among the concerns flagged were lack of clarity in weightage, seniority and priority criteria, and absence of transparency in the final allotment process. The association also said service hardships faced by doctors working in rural, remote and difficult areas were not being adequately considered.
TGGDA further alleged that all existing and arising vacancies were not being displayed, denying eligible doctors an equal opportunity during counselling. It also pointed to technical glitches, login issues and limited timelines affecting participation in the process.
The association sought strict implementation of government orders protecting recognised association office-bearers during transfers, as provided under existing rules and circulars.
TGGDA demanded an immediate review of the current online transfer system, transparent publication of all vacancies, and a stronger grievance redressal mechanism with fixed timelines. It also urged the government to consider physical counselling to improve transparency and trust in the process.
The association said involving representatives of doctors’ bodies would help incorporate field-level realities into the transfer process.
