Tanya Hennessy welcomes baby and reveals her name after years-long fertility struggle
Tanya Hennessy has welcomed her first child after a years-long fertility struggle.
The comedian, radio announcer and author, 40, and her husband Thomas Poole shared Instagram their daughter had been born.
“Our beautiful baby girl is finally here,” the couple wrote before revealing her name.
“Scottie Jack Poole,” is the name the couple chose to name their firstborn.
“I’m in heaven, my heart is exploding,” Hennessy continued.
“My baby is here. My baby. She’s everything and more and I’ve never been so blissfully happy in my life.”
The couple posted two photos with their announcement.

In the second, Hennessy’s husband wears hospital scrubs while he holds his newborn.
Hennessy also shared the post to her Instagram stories where she explained: “I’ll post more later, but right now my baby is here”.
“I’ve waited so long for her.
“So I’m going to stay in this bubble for a bit longer.
“Merry Christmas. My heart is bursting.”
Hennessy has spoken openly about her struggles with infertility, which involved an endometriosis diagnosis and IVF.
“No one chooses infertility. No one chooses to go through IVF, because if there was any way I didn’t have to do it, I would do that,” she said in an interview with Today last year.
“It’s hard to work because you have to go in three times a week, you do internal scans, you do blood tests … and then to get no results, it’s kind of the definition of insanity.”
After seven years and several rounds of IVF, Hennessy announced she was pregnant in July this year.
“After seven years of trying, we finally have a baby on the way,” Hennessy wrote in an announcement post.
“I never thought I would get to post pregnancy content. I’m so thankful and grateful to be here,” she added.
