Reece Walsh: NRL star’s new look leaves fans in disbelief

NRL players Reece Walsh has left fans in disbelief with his latest move, and it has nothing to do with his sporting achievements.

The 23-year-old Brisbane Broncos star revealed this week that he’s shaved his head in time for NRL season to kick off.

Walsh reposted a side-by-side photo of his hair before and after, showing off his shortest haircut yet.

“Did the thang,” he wrote in the caption of the post, showing off the low skin fade, which borders on a buzz cut.

He also posted a video of the transformation to his Tiktok account, which has raked in almost 100k views and over 1,000 comments.

Some fans loved it, while others barely recognised the footy player.

“No, no, no, no, no,” one fan commented.

Others wrote that they would be expecting their kids to get a buzzcut to follow suit.

“Great, looks like I’m shaving my kid’s head this weekend,” one dad commented.

His fans weren’t the only people shocked by the cut, with Walsh posing screenshots of his daughter reacting to his hair over FaceTime.

She appears to be laughing with her mouth wide open in the first shot, while the second shows tears starting to fall down her face.

“She’s never seen me with short hair haha,” he wrote.

His new look is a major change for the footy player, who has always been known to flaunt longer hairstyles, including a mullet.

His surprise makeover comes just a week before the Brisbane Broncos official season launch on February 9, with their first match against the Sydney Roosters on March 6.
