Rashmika Mandanna To Wrap Up The Girlfriend

National Crush Rashmika Mandanna is teaming up with talented actor Dheekshith Shetty for the upcoming romantic drama The Girlfriend. The film is jointly produced by Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment, and presented by renowned producer Allu Aravind. Directed by actor-filmmaker Rahul Ravindran, this promising love story has already generated good buzz among audiences.

According to an official statement from the makers, “The shoot of The Girlfriend is progressing at a brisk pace. Currently, a song featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Dheekshith Shetty is being filmed in Hyderabad. The talkie part of the movie is almost complete. We makers are planning to announce the release date very soon.” The team also revealed that one of the songs from the film is likely to be unveiled later this month to keep the momentum going.

However, being Rashmika’s first author-backed project in Telugu, the film comes with its own set of challenges. A noted director, speaking on condition of anonymity, shared, “Rashmika has a big challenge on hand. She has to pull crowds purely on the strength of her name, which is a tough task given the generally lukewarm reception for women-oriented movies in Tollywood.”

He added, “Rashmika has worked with superstars like Ranbir Kapoor, Allu Arjun and Vicky Kaushal, and is basking in the success of big hits. But now she’s attempting something different and unique to showcase her acting repertoire and prove herself as a solo crowd puller.”
