JoJo Siwa and partner Chris Hughes reveal engagement plans
JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are already talking about getting engaged.
The couple, who have been together for seven months since meeting on the set of Celebrity Big Brother UK, have revealed that, while it may not be anytime soon, a ring is definitely on the cards.
And while Siwa, 22, is hopeful Hughes, 33, will pop the question one day, she says she will happily do it instead if it takes him too long.
How long is too long?
Well, Siwa says if she doesn’t have a ring on her finger within seven years, she will get down on one knee instead.
The conversation arose as Siwa and Hughes spoke to The Sun in a festive-themed interview.
The Dance Moms star joked that she would love an engagement ring for Christmas but Hughes said: “Not just yet”.
“You always get people who get engaged at Christmas. I see it on Instagram every year. I like the idea of it not being at a time where it could be expected,” he explained.

Then Siwa went on to suggest that she could be the one to propose to Hughes – an idea that the 33-year-old wasn’t too keen on.
“You can’t,” Chris responded. “I don’t think you should propose, I don’t agree”.
“I’ve spoken to people about this before you, obviously,” Hughes added.
“And I actually said, ‘I think if I was proposed to, that would make me really uncomfortable’.”
Siwa proceeded to agree that she wouldn’t propose to Hughes unless it took him too long.
“Listen, I wouldn’t do it unless you waited seven years,” she said.
“And then I’d be like, ‘alright, my arse is getting down on the knee then’. If you waited too long, I’d be like ‘OK’.”
Hughes agreed, explaining that he believes “it shouldn’t take you seven years to work out if you want to marry someone”.
Siwa then gave Hughes a cheeky ultimatum.
“Just so you know, May 27th 2032, I will be down on one knee,” she said.
“I will not wait one extra day.”
Siwa and Hughes formed a bond on live television during their stint on Celebrity Big Brother UK.
Siwa had been in a relationship at the time which she ended soon after the show’s finale in April this year.
Weeks later, Siwa and Hughes confirmed they were in a romantic relationship after weeks of insisting it was just platonic.
”It’s not platonic anymore and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection,” she told The Guardian at the time.
“I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way.”
