“This is a whopping payday for three kids who haven’t even hit their teenage years yet – and it’s just the beginning,” a source revealed to The Sun.

They revealed that as a result of their roles in the upcoming series, each actor is now on track to be “multi-millionaires before they turn 18”.

“It’s a lot of money for young kids to be handed overnight, but they’re about to become three of the most famous children in the world,” the source said.

The trio beat out over 32,000 fellow hopefuls to clinch the coveted roles, which they will make their own over the show’s planned 10-year, seven-season run.

HBO dropped a first look of the highly-anticipated series last week, which is slated for a December 2026 release.

The news of a Christmas time premiere came as a surprise to fans, after previous reports indicated a 2027 window for the show to drop.

The new trailer teased the very beginning of the bespectacled boy wizard’s story, giving fans a glimpse of his dismal pre-Hogwarts upbringing with the Dursleys, as well as his meeting with Nick Frost’s half-giant Hagrid.

The preview arrived just one day after HBO unveiled its first official image, depicting McLaughlin-as-Harry clad in Gryffindor’s red and gold Quidditch robes, Nimbus 2000 in hand, seemingly enroute to a Hufflepuff match.

Fans have been eagerly anticipating details about the series since its announcement – and now HBO have officially delivered.

As the network best known for producing large-scale shows such as House of Dragon and Game of Thrones, it can be expected that Harry Potter will be right on par where budget is concerned.

Deadline reported that HBO’s House of the Dragon cost nearly $200 million to make, on top of the network’s “biggest marketing campaign ever”.

“I imagine [the Harry Potter TV series] will be that scale or higher. The shorter answer is whatever it takes to make a quality show,” HBO boss Casey Bloys told the publication.

The series is set to allow for different stories to be fleshed out, and secrets to be unearthed as the franchise expands in ways not seen in the original adaptation.

Each book is expected to play out across its own dedicated season, amounting to seven seasons in total.
