Fleetwood Mac legend Lindsey Buckingham attacked in LA by suspected ‘stalker’ with unknown substance
Legendary Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham was attacked by a stranger in Los Angeles, police have reported today.
The two-time Grammy-winning guitarist and singer was confronted by a woman on his way to an appointment in Santa Monica, according to NBC 4 Los Angeles.
It was reported the woman threw an unidentified substance at the 76-year-old as he entered the building, before she fled the scene.
Authorities have identified the woman and described her as a “stalking suspect” according to the publication.
It’s believed Buckingham is aware of the woman from past incidents. It’s alleged she knew of his location at the time and showed up to the site.
Buckingham was reported to remain uninjured from the attack. An arrest is expected to be made.
The Santa Monica police and the Los Angeles Police Department are investigating the incident.

Known for their hits Landslide, Dreams and Go Your Own Yay, Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac in late 1974 with then wife Stevie Nicks.
The release of their album Rumors propelled the band into ’70s stardom.
Nicks and Buckingham’s infamously tumultuous relationship ended just two years into their tenure in Fleetwood Mac. They did however, continue to perform and make music together.
Ironically, their breakup led to two of the band’s most-loved songs, Go Your Own Way – written by Buckingham about Nicks – and Dreams, written by Nicks about Buckingham.
Dreams was the group’s first and only No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single.
In 1978, the band received one of their highest honours at the time, winning the Album of the Year award at the Grammys. In 1998, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York.
Buckingham famously left the band to pursue a solo career during the ’80s and didn’t return for an entire decade.
The group made one more album without Buckingham, 1990’s Behind the Mask, then Nicks left the group soon after.
In 1998, Buckingham welcomed a son with now wife Kristen Messner. They tied the knot in 2000 and later welcomed two girls.
In 2021, news hit that Messner had filed for divorce from Buckingham, but the singer later revealed that they’d put the filing on hold, as they tried to repair their relationship.
