Ellidy Pullin: Widow opens up about finding love again after partner’s Alex Pullin’s death
Ellidy Pullin has found love again five years after the tragic death of her partner, Olympic snowboarder Alex “Chumpy” Pullin.
The Darling, Shine! Podcast host revealed on the show that she is “so happy” with her new partner, Brock Wadsworth, despite feeling guilty for saying it.
Pullin said she knew Wadsworth for “years” before they dated, confirming he is her good friend’s brother.
Pullin said initially she accidentally led her new boyfriend on, knowing she didn’t want anything serious.
Wadsworth turned up halfway through a group Bali trip after an invite from Aussie DJ Paul Fisher, who is married to Darling, Shine! podcast co-host Chloe Fisher.
But she confessed it wasn’t the perfect start, admitting it took a long time for her to want to date him, citing her own fears and anxieties that she “didn’t want to hurt him.”
“There were things along the way… everything that started as an ick, I really liked about him,” she said.

“I was making things up in my head [about why he wasn’t my person], now I’m just like all of those things were in my head… I was just scared of my feelings.”
“I just wasn’t ready. I was a bit of a jerk, I feel really guilty looking back.”
The pair were “casually hooking up” and had become best friends, but Wadsworth made his feelings for her clear, which caused her to end things with him romantically.
Everything changed when they both found themselves in Europe a few months later, and he flew to London to see her.
“I saw him, and I realised I missed [him]… [I thought] ‘I’ve been pushing you away a lot’,” she confessed.
“London was a huge turning point for me… Poor Brocky, he put up with a lot.”
She added that it was hard to navigate her grief and guilt about the passing of her late partner while they were dating.
“Chumpy passed away five years ago. Grief is absolutely f—ed,” Pullin confessed.
“Of course, I love Chumpy, I still love him so much. I’ll never not love him.”
She then referenced her daughter Minnie, who was born in October 2021 and conceived using sperm retrieved from her late partner.
“I realised your heart can grow because I had a baby. Your heart grows and it grows and grows,” she added.
“I just never really imagined what my next relationship would look like [or] who that person would be.
“But I just didn’t really think it was going to be like this, and it just really took me by surprise.”
Pullin also said she was a “different person” falling in love now, 15 years after she first fell in love with Alex.
“You just cannot compare the way that I am falling in love with Brock right now, and I’m so happy I’m in a whole different stage of my life to when I was that person who was falling in love with Chump.
“Everything’s just different and beautiful and always going to be different because I’m a different person.
“I feel guilty saying it, but I’m just so happy right now, and I’m really enjoying the feelings and the emotions and like, fully falling in love with Brock and having this new love.”
Wadsworth recently posted photos of the pair together on Holiday to celebrate Fisher’s 40th Birthday, writing: “40 years of fish aged me 45 years, being in love is cool.”
