Coldplay Kiss Cam cheating scandal: Kristin Cabot slams Gwyneth Paltrow’s Astronomer ad

She was the unwilling face of 2025’s biggest meme.

And now the woman caught cheating with her boss at a Coldplay concert, Kristin Cabot, has shared her side of the story via the New York Times for the very first time.

In the process, she had some choice words for big-name actress Gwyneth Paltrow, following a cheeky ad the star released in response to the scandal.

Cabot, the ex-Chief People Officer at tech company Astronomer, rocketed to infamy via speculation she was having an affair with CEO Andy Byron at Coldplay’s Boston show in July.

The pair were featured on the “kiss cam” segment during the concert, where cameras flash shots of couples onto a jumbotron for all attendees to see, encouraging them to share a kiss.

Rather than doing what any other couple would have done in that scenario, the pair, who were previously embracing, separated and ducked out of sight, trying to escape the camera.

“Either they’re having an affair or just really shy,” Coldplay frontman Chris Martin quipped at the time.

Paltrow later appeared in an ad for Astronomer, pointedly employed to address frequently asked questions amid the fallout from this viral moment.

There was a particular humour behind the choice that did not escape fans, with many being aware of Paltrow’s “conscious uncoupling” from ex-husband Martin in 2014.

As it turns out, the actress’ choice to feature in Astronomer’s ensuing damage control ad was a move that “mortified” Cabot, who ultimately resigned from her role at the company.

“I was such a fan of her company,” she told The New York Times for their feature article.

“[Goop] seemed to be about uplifting women. And then she did this.

“I thought, ‘How dare she after the beating she got for all the conscious uncoupling stuff.’ What a hypocrite,” Cabot added.

The former HR head revealed she was so disgusted by the commercial that she ultimately decided to discard every Goop product she owned.

Both she and Byron went on to resign from their respective positions as CEO and CPO in the wake of the career-ending scandal.

Cabot said she “made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately,” with her then-boss during the concert.

She alleged she had been separated from her husband, Andrew Cabot, at the time of the incident.
