CM Revanth Inspects Rain-Hit Areas in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday conducted surprise inspections in various colonies flooded due to the recent heavy rains in the city. He directed officials to take permanent remedial measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

The CM visited flood-affected areas including Ameerpet, Buddhanagar, Maitrivanam, Balkampet, and surrounding colonies. At Buddhanagar, he inspected the floodwater drainage system and observed that the drainage canal was higher than the colony road and had become narrow, worsening the flooding. He instructed officials to take immediate corrective action.

In Gangubai Bastikunta, locals complained that parts of the Basti Kunta were being buried and used for parking. The CM ordered officials to prepare a plan for a permanent solution, including setting up a special trunk line in the area. He also reviewed the situation at Maitrivanam, where water stagnation has been a recurring problem.

During his visit, the CM interacted with a local boy, Jaswant, a Class 7 student, who explained that floodwater had entered his house and damaged his schoolbooks. The CM assured him that steps would be taken to ensure such flooding does not happen again.

Following the inspections, the CM issued several instructions to the HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath, GHMC Commissioner, and other concerned officials for urgent implementation.
