Annabel Schofield death: Dallas actress and ’80s supermodel dies aged 62 after cancer battle
Actress and model Annabel Schofield has died aged 62 after a battle with brain cancer.
The 1980s supermodel went from gracing Vogue covers to playing Laurel Ellis on the US soap Dallas, died in Los Angeles on February 28, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Schofield, born on September 4, 1963 in Llanelli, Wales, reached the height of her fame after being represented by London’s Take Two Agency, featuring on the cover of over 60 magazines.

She participated in campaigns for iconic fashion and beauty brands including Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Rimmel, Revlon, Avon, and Levi’s.
Schofield was featured as the cover model for Vogue Deutsch (German Vogue) in 1984, numerous shoots for Italian Vogue and was a major cover girl sensation before transitioning into her vibrant acting career.
Her renowned line, “Excuse me, are those Bugle Boy jeans you’re wearing?” delivered while driving a sleek black Ferrari, in red lipstick, through the desert in the commercial, was a prominent moment in her career.

The success and popularity of her feature in the television commercial lead to her widening recognition across the globe.
After attending drama school in New York, Schofield shifted into her first acting role in a small production Bloodtide in 1982.
Her father John D. Schofield was a British movie production executive, so Schofield always had an understanding and comfortability with film sets.
In the time following the former supermodel’s acting appearances in Solar Crisis, Eye of the Widow, Blood Tide and Dragonard, she then took up a role behind the camera where she worked on productions such as The Brothers Grimm starring Heath Ledger, Doom and City of Ember.
She began to work as a Producer and even began her own LA based company called Bella Bene Productions, specialising in production projects within fashion, music, brands, photography, filmmaking, and content creating.
Schofield also published her novel The Cherry Alignment in 2013, a semi‑autobiography that follows a character called Angelika Douglas.
The character and story is inspired by her experiences in the fashion industry as a legendary ’80s model and the lively worlds of film and television in during that era.
In her novel, she wrote a dedication to her The Brothers Grimm colleague and Australian late friend, Heath Ledger.
