2025 in review: From the Coldplay ‘kiss cam’ saga to the rise of Labubus, the top mishaps and viral moments that happened in 2025
Well, that’s another year done and dusted.
2025 came with some big viral moments, from Labubus popping up everywhere even of the bags of some of the world’s biggest stars, to – who could forget? – the Coldplay ‘kiss cam’ saga.
The mishap made headlines around the world in July when a couple, standing in an embrace, popped up on the jumbotron at Coldplay’s Boston concert and quickly parted ways, prompting a cheeky quip from frontman Chris Martin.

“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” he said as former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR executive Kristin Cabot rushed out of frame.
The moment went viral around the world and speculation about the nature of their relationship flew.
While Byron and Cabot both resigned from their roles amid the controversy, in September, a source shot down allegations of an ”affair” between the colleagues to People.

“Kristin and Andy [Byron] had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair,” the source told the outlet at the time.
“It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it.
“But the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job – all of that is unfair.
“It is important to note how inappropriately mislabeled Kristin has been – as a homewrecker.”
Three months ago, Cabot’s husband broke his silence.
Andrew Cabot issued a statement to People and clarified things, after The Daily Mail reported his wife had filed for divorce, per legal documents.
The statement, shared by a spokeswoman of the Privateer Rum CEO, revealed the Cabots had split “privately and amicably” weeks before the kiss cam mishap.
“Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening,” it said.
“Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.”
In a final twist, Cabot broke her silence on December 18, telling the New York Times it was a “bad decision” to cozy up to Byron at a gig.
”I made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss,” Cabot she added in a separate interview with The New York Post.
“And it’s not nothing. I took accountability and I gave up my career for that. That’s the price I chose to pay.”

Cabot said while everyone assumed she and Byron were still married to their partners at the time, they were both amicably separated.
She said they had told each other they had separated from their partners about a month before the gig, and her feelings turned into a “big happy crush”.
